Completing Account

How to finish the account setup process by completing your account.

Once you've successfully verified your email, you can now log in. Once logged in you will be prompted to finish the remaining steps to complete your account and begin using Memebase.

Username

Usernames are required, case-insensitive-unique identifiers. Meaning once a username is claimed, it is reserved and inaccessible to anyone else. The original case is maintained during display.

Username Guidelines

  • Must contain at least 1 letter.

  • Can include numbers, underscores, and periods except at the beginning and end.

  • Must be between 3 and 15 characters long.

Name

Names are required non-unique identifiers.

  • Can contain letters, numbers, underscores, hyphens, and spaces.

  • Must be between 1 and 20 characters long.

Bio

Bio's are optional brief descriptions about you/your account.

Bio Guidelines

  • Can contain letters, numbers, underscores, spaces, and special characters.

  • Must be between 1 and 150 characters long.

Privacy

Privacy settings will affect how your account is accessed and viewed. There are two settings to choose from.

Users must follow you in order to view your profile and access your posts. All follow requests must be approved manually.

Regardless of your privacy status, all users can still see your Following, Followers, and Posts counts.

Content

Content settings affect what types of content show up in your Feed and the Explore page, and their visibility. To provide a space for all users to share content they enjoy, we have created designations to compartmentalize sensitive content.

Not Safe For Work (NSFW)

NSFW is a popular internet term that refers to content that is considered unacceptable to be viewed within a workplace. Generally, it is associated with nudity, violence, and other abrasive or shocking content. Users have the ability to configure how NSFW content is viewed via two settings. You may choose to hide it entirely, display it with spoiler warnings, or view it outright.

NSFW Settings

Enabling NSFW Feed will incorporate NSFW-designated posts into your Home feed and the Explore page.

Finish

Once you've filled out all the necessary fields and have selected your desired settings, you may proceed to complete your account.

Upon completing your account your username's uniqueness will be evaluated. You may need to make adjustments if the desired username is already taken.
